Short-term toxicity to fish:

In a short-term toxicity test zebra fish were exposed to the test item for 96 hours according to a guideline-conform study under GLP. The LC50 of the test substance was determined to be >20 and < 43 mg/L, results on the basis of the mean values of the analytically detected concentrations (1 + 24 + 48 + 96 hours). The no observed effect concentration NOEC (1+24+48+96 hours) is 9 mg/L. As the recovery rates of the test item in test water after 96 hours were considerably less than 80%, the test results derived from this approach should be used for chemical safety assessment.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

In a valid, guideline-conform study under GLP daphnids were exposed to the test item in an static immobilization test for 48 hours. The EC50 value was determined to be 20.3 mg/L.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:

In a static growth inhibition test freshwater green alga were exposed to the test item for 72 hours according to guideline-conform study under GLP. The EC50 value was determined to be 4.54 mg/L, EC10 value was determined to be 0.93mg/L.

Toxicity to microorganisms:

Three valid tests have been reported for the endpoint. In a 1996 OECD 209 study with activated sludge an EC 20 (30 min) > 1000 mg/L was reported. In a 1989 ISO 8192 B study an EC 20 (30 min) of 1000 mg/L was observed. A guideline-conform study of Butandioldivinylether on the celI multiplication of the bacterium Pseudomonas putida resulted in an EC10 (16 h) of 5650 mg/L. Taking into account all available evidence, the result from the 1996 OECD 209 study with activated sludge shall be used as key value for chemical safety assessment, as these are the newest relevant and applicable data, guideline-conform and generated under GLP.
