Irritant / corrosive response data:
Reversibility of any observed effect: Changes fully reversible within 4 days.
Other effects:
Tissues of the eye were stained red, preventing a complete assessment of ocular irritation. However, from day 4 there were clearly no corneal or iridical effects in at least 2 of the rabbits. Due to the red staining. It was not possible to assess conjuctival redness. However, slight to mild chemosis and slight to severe discharge were observed in all animals up to day 3 of the study. Additional signs of ocular irritation included dried secretions of the periorbital akin in 1 rabbit. Also, following installation of fluorescein stain, damage to one quarterof the comea of 1 rabbit was demonstrated. None of these additional signs were evident from day 4 after application.
