In accordance with the CLP criteria, skin sensitizer is defined as “a substance that will lead to an allergic response following skin contact”.

Evaluation of available QSAR models and using the SAR approach does not provide evidence supporting sensitizing activity of dichloromethane.

In addition, no human data associated with allergy to dichloromethane were reported.

In conclusion, based on the skin sensitization data summarized here and taking into account that there have been no reports of skin sensitization caused by dichloromethane, it is not considered to be a skin sensitizer.
