Title:
The influence of some acids, bases and salts on an enchytraeid population of a pine litter substrate

Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Test substance was added to fresh pine litter substrate. pH and conductivity was measured during 6 months. At regular times the enchytraeids are counted both in the controls and in the test samples. Toxicity was estimated by calcuting the regression equation between reproduction number and pH or conductivity.
GLP compliance:
not specified

The values of LC50 and LC92 are calculated using the regression given in the method. The enchytraeid population was >95% Cognetia sphagnetorum.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
90d LC50 = 850 and LC92 = 3000 mg/l for the enchytraeid population in fresh pine substrate.
