Description of key information

According to the introductory sections to Annexes VII-X of the REACH Regulation, in vivo testing shall be avoided with corrosive substances at concentrations / dose levels causing corrosivity. Potassium hydroxide is a corrosive substance at concentrations of about 2% and higher.

In addition, potassium hydroxide is not expected to be systemically available in the body under normal handling and use conditions and therefore systemic effects of potassium hydroxide after repeated exposure are not expected to occur.
