Description of key information

Weight-of-evidence:
According to handbook data (Kirk-Othmer, 1991) as well as to a QSAR estimation

(EPIWIN, 2009), trimethylolpropane is reported to be very soluble in water since roughly 100 - 1000 g/L TMP are dissolved at 25 °C. At elevated temperatures the solubility even increases as indicated in the Kirk-Othmer handbook where it is reported that 200g of TMP dissolve in 100 g water at 90 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
100 g/L
at the temperature of:
25 °C
