Description of key information
The environmental assessment of TOS is based on the available information for the whole substance and its constituents. Where measured data are available for the whole substance, this is used as key information supported by predicted and/or measured results for the constituents where available/possible and relevant.
Since TOS is a UVCB substance containing various constituents such as sodium salts of fatty acids, sodium salts of rosin acids, alcohols, sterols and high molecular weight compounds such as lignins and cellulose; the constituents of the registered substance are separated into blocks and the weighted average data for the resultant blocks are used for environmental exposure assessment of the registered substance.
