Description of key information

The flammability of liquids is determined on basis of their flash point (in combination with their boiling point), their ability to emit flammable gases upon contact with water and their pyrophoricity. The molecular structure of the substance does not contain groups that indicate potential reactivity with water or pyrophoric properties. The flash point of 98 °C together with the boiling point of 231.9 °C indicates that the substance is not a flammable liquid. Furthermore, the substance shows to be stable in water and air at room temperature.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the flash point of 98˚C and the boiling point of 231.9˚C, it's stability in air and water and that the molecular structure of the substance does not contain groups that indicate potential reactivity with water or pyrophoric properties, classification in accordance with EU CLP (EC 1272/2008 and its amendments) is not necessary.
