PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB

Undecalactone is readily biodegradable, has a log octanol-water partition coefficient at 3.6 and has a maximum BCF (estimated) at 421 L/Kg, therefore does not meet the criterion for persistence (P) and bioaccumulation (B). For the T criterion, the sensitivity of the three trophic levels (aquatic algae, invertebrates and fish) in acute conditions is the same with an experimental EC50 of 5.94 mg/L and 5.85 mg/L for aquatic algae and invertebrates respectively, and an estimated LC50 of 6.13 mg/L for fish. As these values are greater than 0.1 mg/L, the test substance is presumably not T. Moreover, an experimental EC10 of 0.876 mg/L for aquatic algae supports the conclusion. Undecalactone could not be considered as a PBT or vPvB substance.
