Data from the Physicalisch-Technische Bundersanstalt-Arbeitsgruppe determined the autoiginition temperature of trimethyl orthoformate to be 255°C. Limited details were provided.
A secondary source of information is also available (Draeger Safety 2007), which also reports the auto ignition temperature as 255°C. Whilst there are obvious limitations to both data sources the value reported is far in excess of any safe handling conditions required for trimethyl orthoformate given the relatively low boiling point and low flash point (9°C).
