Additional information

All in vitro mutagenicity tests performed with 3,3'-[biphenyl-4,4'-diylbis(oxy)]dianiline used common strains and applied methods that were in accordance with the relevant guidelines. All tests were negative with and without metabolic activation. From the findings, it can be concluded that the substance does not have mutagenic potential.

Short description of key information:
The mutagenicity potential of 3,3'-[biphenyl-4,4'-diylbis(oxy)]dianiline has been studied in 3 valid in-vitro studies: Ames test, Mammalian Cell Gene Mutation Test and a chromosomal aberration test.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

All of the three in-vitro genotixicity performed led to a negative result. Therefore EU or GHS classification of 3,3'-[biphenyl-4,4'-diylbis(oxy)]dianiline as to its genotoxic properties is not required.
