Preliminary test

The content of test substance dissolved in the water sample with a stirring time of 21 hours was 1.83 g/l.

Main study

The results for the samples taken at 24, 48 and 72 hours are given inTable9.

The 72-hour measurement was somewhat lower than the 24- and 48- hour measurements (maximum difference > 15%). A possible reason for it could be that the test substance had been degraded and/or evaporated from the water phase during performance of the test.

According to the guidelines, the water solubility of the test substance is given as the mean value of the 24- and 48-hour measurements. The maximum difference on these values was < 15%.

No test substance was detected in the pretreated samples from the blank water mixture.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): soluble (1000-10000 mg/L)
The flask method was chosen for the determination of the water solubility of the reaction mass containing mainly 2-chloropropene. Quantification was performed on the major compound of the test substance.

The water solubility of the test substance at 20°C was 1.94 g/l. The pH of the aqueous samples was 3.1 to 3.5.
