Description of key information

A literature search was conducted in order to obtain information on partitioning of this substance. Based on the available results it is concluded that rhenium undergoes limited partitioning in soils or in the aquatic environment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In the absence of any information on rhenium partitioning in freshwaters the partitioning behaviour is considered to be equivalent to that observed for marine waters. No partitioning of rhenium is expected in the aquatic environment (KD= 0), and limited partitioning is expected in the soil environment (KD = 22.5).
