Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Melting range of the test item is 141 – 190 °C (sodium chloride free material: 142-191 °C).
Onset of melting range: 141 °C (sodium chloride free material: 142 °C).
The test item decomposes before reaching its boiling point. The onset of decomposition is at approximately 260 °C. (sodium chloride free material: 260°C).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
141 °C

Additional information

The melting point of the test item was determined by differential scanning calorimetry in a study according OECD guideline no. 102.

The melting range of the test item is 141 – 190 °C. The onset of the melting range was chosen as key parameter for chemical safety assessment. The test item decomposes before reaching its boiling point. The onset of decomposition is at approximately 260 °C.

In a separate study a sodium chloride free test item with a higher content of active material was inverstigated in the same way. The study reports consistently the same range for melting and onset for decomposition.
