Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Eye contact Holding the eyelids apart, flush eyes promptly with copious flowing water for at least
20 minutes. Get medical attention immediately.
Skin contact Flood skin with water directing a stream of water under the clothing while it is being
removed.
Wash skin thoroughly with mild soap and plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get
medical attention immediately.
All leather items should be discarded. Other contaminated clothing must either be
discarded or thoroughly washed before re-use.
Inhalation In case of inhalation, remove person to fresh air.
Keep him quiet and warm. Apply artificial respiration if necessary and get medical
attention immediately.
Ingestion If swallowed, wash mouth thoroughly with plenty of water and give water to drink.
Get medical attention immediately.

NOTE: Never give an unconscious person anything to drink.

Notes to the physician Severe irritant
No specific antidote. Treat symptomatically and supportively. In case of ingestion
DO NOT induce vomiting. In case of inhalation may cause CNS toxicity.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media Material is not combustible. Use extinguishing media appropriate to surrounding fire
conditions.
Fire fighting procedure Cool containers with water spray. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus in
positive pressure mode and appropriate protective clothing.
Unusual fire and explosion
hazards Will decompose in flame, on hot surface or during welding, releasing poisonous and
corrosive fumes of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen bromide.
Reacts with various metal powders, with risk of fire and explosion.
Vapour mixes readily with air. Flow, agitation etc. can cause build-up of electrostatic
charge due to liquid's low conductivity.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions Evacuate area.
Full protective clothing, including self-contained breathing apparatus, must be used.
Methods for cleaning up Absorb on sand or vermiculite and place in closed container for disposal. Ventilate
area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete.
Avoid access to streams, lakes or ponds.
Handling and storage
Handling Keep containers tightly closed and protected from physical damage.
Avoid bodily contact.
Storage Store out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry, well ventilated (at floor level) area
away from incompatible materials
