Description of key information

FAT 40841/A TE has no oxidising properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

During the preliminary test the FAT 40841/A TE/cellulose mixture only glowed on the surface. The barium nitrate/cellulose mixture during the same test burned for 60 s with a greenish flame.

For all prepared FAT 40841/A TE/cellulose mixtures only surface burning or no burning was observed and therefore no burning rates could be calculated. Therefore the test was stopped according to the guideline. In comparison: the fastest burning rate of 0.58 mm/s was found for the reference material barium nitrate (50%) mixed with cellulose powder (50%).
