In the key study on long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates the NOEC of the test item was determined to be 0.52 mg/L.

Additional information

The 21(22)-day-chronic toxicity of the test item to Daphnia magna was studied under semi-static conditions (reproduction and survival rate). Daphnids were exposed to control, solvent control, and test item at nominal concentrations of 0, 0.20, 0.63, 2.0, 6.3 and 20.0 mg/L following the OECD guidelines. The auxiliary emulsifier Tween 80 was used (20 mg/L) to prepare test concentrations above the water solubility of the test item. Nominal test item concentrations were analytically verified and were found to be slightly lower than the nominal values, possibly caused by sedimentation of a small part of the suspended test item. The measured values varied in the range from 78.0 -98.0 % of the nominal concentrations. Under the test conditions, the test item was sufficiently stable over at least 7 2 hours. Therefore, the reported biological results (NOEC/LOEC) were related to the mean measured concentrations (average over all measurements per test concentration). As highest concentration tested without toxic effects (NOEC) 0.52 mg/L and as lowest concentration tested with toxic effects (LOEC) 1.7 mg/L were determined. At the LOEC the mean reproduction rate of surviving Daphnia magna was statistically significantly lower than in the solvent control.
