Additional information

Diallyl 2,2'-oxydiethyl dicarbonate was determined to be readily biodegradable in two adequate (OECD 301D) ready biodegradability closed bottle tests (van Cinkel, 1993; RBM lnstituto di Ricerche Biomediche, 1994).

In addition one biodegradability test in soil was performed (no guideline followed; Williams, 1993), whereby the test substance 'diallyl 2,2'-oxydiethyl dicarbonate' was biologically degraded, chemically degraded, or volatilized in soil at 25 ± 1 °C to a level which was below the analytical detection limit (10 ppm) within 3 days [half life in soil < 3d at 25 ± 1°C].

For justification of this read-across approach, please refer to the general discussion of environmental fate and pathways.
