Description of key information

In a 3 h activated sludge respiration inhibition study conducted according to OECD guideline 209 and GLP, microorganisms in activated sludge were exposed to the test substance at the following nominal concentrations: 0 (blank control), 32, 56, 100, 180 and 320 mg/L (loading rate). A significant inhibition of respiration rate of the sludge was recorded at and above the lowest concentration, 32 mg/L, so no NOEC could be derived. The EC50, based on nominal concentrations, was 100 mg/L with a 95% confidence interval ranging from 80 to 132 mg/L. The study is considered to be reliable without restrictions.
