Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No toxic effects up to the limit of water solubility (< 0.05 mg/L in aqua dest) for Danio rerio (EU method C.1)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study investigating the toxicity of 2-Butenedioic acid (E)-, di-C18-22-alkyl esters (CAS 68921-53-9) to freshwater fish is available. The study was performed under semi-static conditions according to GLP and EU method C.1 using Brachydanio rerio as test organism (Scholz, 1995). The test material was directly added to the test vessels. The test concentrations were measured using DOC analysis; however, the analysis showed that the test substance is only poorly soluble in water and thus the measurement could not be used as basis for the determination of the test concentrations.

No mortality was observed in any treatment and the control during the test duration of 96 hours. Accordingly, the 96h-LC50 is determined to be >10,000 mg/L.
