Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Since no studies investigating the short-term toxicity of Diisopropyl sebacate (CAS 7491-03-2) to freshwater fish are available for this endpoint, in accordance to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5 Grouping of substances, a read-across to the structurally related category member Dibutyl sebacate (CAS 109-43-3) was conducted.Further justification is given within the endpoint summary 6.1 and within the category justification section 13. In this case of read-across, the best suited (highest degree of structural similarity, nearest physico-chemical properties) read-across substance within this category was used.

The study with Dibutyl sebacate (CAS 109-43-3) was conducted according to ISO guideline 7346/1 under semi-static conditions; however, the study was not performed under GLP. The test material was directly added to the test vessels in order to obtain nominal test concentrations of 1000, 3000 and 10,000 mg/L. No mortality of Brachydanio rerio was observed in any treatment during the test period of 96 hours. Hence, the 96 h-LC50 is determined to be >10000 mg/L based on the nominal test concentrations.

Due to the structural and property similarities with the tested category member Dibutyl sebacate (CAS 109-43-3) this result is also applicable to read across to Diisopropyl sebacate (CAS 7491-03-2).
