Additional information

One study investigating the acute toxicity of Diisopropyl sebacate (CAS 7491-02-3) to aquatic invertebrates is available. The study was conducted under static conditions according to OECD guideline 202 using Daphnia magna as test organism (Barthel, 2011). After mixing, the stock solution was treated with ultrasound for 1 min and then filtrated through a PTFE membrane with a pore-size of 5 µm. The filtrate of the stock solution was considered to be at the limit of the solubility of the test item under the test conditions and was immediately used for the preparation of the test concentrations. The test concentration was measured using TOC analysis; however, the analysis showed that the test substance is only poorly soluble in water, with a measured TOC concentration of 8 mg/L after 100 mg/L test material was added (the total organic carbon (TOC) content of the test item was determined to be 69.4%).

No immobilization was observed after 48 hours exposure time. Hence, the 48 h-EC50 value is determined to be > 100 mg/L loading rate based on the nominal test concentration and > 8 mg/L, based on TOC.
