First-aid measures

General information:

Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the substance and take precautions to protect themselves.

Description of first aid measures:

Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Call a physician if symptoms develop or persist.

Skin contact: Wash off with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

Eye contact: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

Ingestion: Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: Not established.

Indication of any immediate mdeical attention and special treatment needed:  Treat symptomatically. Symptoms may be delayed. Show the safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

Fire-fighting measures

General fire hazards: No unusual fire or explosion hazards noted.

Suitable extinguishing media: Water fog, foam. Dry chemical powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2).

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water jet may spread the fire.

Special hazards arising from the substance: During fire gases hazardous to health may be formed.

Advice for firefighters:

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be warn in case of fire.

Special fire fighting procedures: Use water spray to cool unopened containers.

Specific methods: Use standard firefighting procedures and consider the hazards of other involved materials.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

For non-emergency personnel: Keep unnecessary personnel away. Use appropriate personal protective equipment.

For emergency responders: Keep unnecessary personnel away. Use appropriate personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions: Avoid discharge into drains, water courses or onto the ground.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up: The substance is miscible in water. Stop the flow of the substances, if without risk. Following recovery flush area with water.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: Observe good industrial hygiene practices.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Use appropriate container to avoid environmental contamination. Store in tightly closed container. Store away from incompatible materials.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters

Occupational exposure limits: None

Biological limit values: None

Recommended monitoring procedures: Follow standard monitoring procedures

Exposure controls

Appropriate engineering controls: Provide adequate general and local exhaust ventilation.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment

General information: Personal protective equipment should be chosen according to the CEN standards and in discussion with the supplier.

Eye/face protection: Wear dust goggles.

Hand protection: Wear appropriate chemical resistant gloves.

Other skin protection: Wear an apron. Wear long sleeved clothing.

Respiratory protection: Wear suitable respiratory protection.

Thermal hazards: Wear appropriate thermal protective clothing, when necessary.

Hygiene measures: Always observe good personal hygiene measures such as washing after handling the substance and before eating, drinking and/or smoking. Routinely wash work clothing and protective equipment to remove contaminants.

Environmental exposure controls: Emissions from ventilation or work proces equipment should be checked to ensure they comply with the requirements of environmental protection legislation. Fume scrubbers, filters or engineering modifications to the process equipment may be necessary to reduce emissions to acceptable levels.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: The substance is stable and non-reactive under normal conditions of use, storage and transport.

Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: None known under normal conditions of use.

Conditions to avoid: Contact with incompatible materials.

Incompatible materials: Strong acids, alkalis and oxidising agents.

Hazardous decomposition products: If substance is burned hazardous gases such as oxides of carbon and nitrogen and various hydrocarbons may be produced.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods:

Residual waste: Dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Empty containers or liners may retain some product residues. The substance and its container must be disposed of in a safe manner.

Contaminated packaging: Since empty containers may contain residual substance follow label warnings even after the contrainer is emptied. Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal.

EU Waste Code: The Waste Code shouldbe assigned in discussion between the user, the producer and the waste disposal company.

Disposal methods / information: Dispose of in accordance with all applicable regulations.
