Description of key information
Sodium diacetate is classified as non flammable.
Pyrophoric properties: Bascic on experience on handling and use, the substance is stable and does not espontaneously ignite when exposed to air.

The flammability of the test item was determined according to EEC-Guideline A.10. The test item was formed to an uninterrupted pile of 250 mm in lenght on a ceran plate. It was tried to ignite the substance-pile at one end with the flame of a teclu-burner. The test item began immediately to melt. There was no inflammation or smouldering observed within the testing period. Because it was impossible to ignite the test item the main test had not to be performed.
