Conclusion on classification

The information concerning the aquatic toxicity of Condensation product of N-C12-C18-alkylpropane-1,3-diamine, N-(3 -aminopropyl)-N’-C12-C18-alkylpropane-1,3-diamine and formic acid are summarized hereafter:

Acute toxicity to fish(OECD 203 and GLP): LC50 -96h = 168 µg/L in Oncorhynchus mykiss.

Long-term toxicity to daphnia(OECD 211 and GLP): NOEC = 3.2 µg/L in Daphnia magna

Toxicity to algae(OECD 201 and GLP): ErC50 -72h = 37.8 µg/L and NOEC = 5.6 µg/L in Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata.

Condensation product of N-C12-C18-alkylpropane-1,3-diamine, N-(3 -aminopropyl) -N’-C12-C18-alkylpropane-1,3-diamine and formic acid is also considered as persistent in the environment since it is not readily biodegradable.

Dangerous substance directive:

N-R50/53

Classification Labeling & Packaging:

Aquatic chronic category 1 – H410: very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

The lowest L(E) C50 value obtained in the frame of the ecotoxicity tests being 0.038 mg/L (algae), the M factor is:

Acute M-factor = 10

and lowest NOEC value obtained in the frame of the ecotoxicity tests being 0.003 mg/L (algae), the M factor is:

Chronic M-factor = 10
