Description of key information

Boiling point of bismuth(III)trinitrate, pentahydrate: >600°C (study results, OECD guideline 103)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
600 °C

Additional information

The determination of the boiling point was carried out by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The test item was heated up from ambient to the final temperature (450 and 600 °C, respectively). Due to the optical inspection and the result of the closed measurement it can be concluded that the test item has no boiling point at atmospheric condition up to the maximum temperature of the measurement (600 °C). This has been confirmed by the measurement in the capillary method.
