Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
no
Conclusions:
An EC10 (3h) of 580 mg/L and an EC50(3h) of 1572 mg/L was observed on the respiration of activated sludge.
Executive summary:

As m-toluidine HCl dissociates in aqueous solution into m-toluidine and hydrochloride the studies concerning the ecotoxicology of m-toludine are considered relevant for the registration according to REACH.

The toxicity of m-toluidine towards microorganisms was investigated observing the res-piration of activated sludge. On that basis, an EC10(3h) of 580 mg/L and an EC50(3h) of 1,572 mg/L were determined.

The study has been conducted according to an OECD TG and is not publicly available. As it is not well documented, the study has been rated as Klimisch 3 (not reliable).
