From 1996-06-19 to 1996-07-11
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
Version / remarks:
OJ No. L383A, 29.12.92
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
capillary method
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Batch No.: Chichibu Lot 950704
Purity: 95.7%
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
>= 102.5 - <= 111 °C
Decomposition:
no
Sublimation:
no

The test substance shrank from the sides of the capillary tube at ca 98 °C, appeared tacky at the initial melting temperature and became visibly liquid from 105.5°C. This brown liquid resolidified to a light brown solid on cooling.

Conclusions:
Substance melting point is 102.5 - 111°C.
Executive summary:

The melting temperature of test substance has been determined as 102.5 to 111.0°C using themetal block method based on EC A1.
