Conclusions:
In the preliminary test the test item could not be ignited. Based on the results of the preliminary test, no main test was performed. The test item is considered as a not readily combustible solid of Division 4.1.
Executive summary:

The determination of the flammability of the test item was conducted following internallionally accepted recommentations ( Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, sixth revised edition; Test N.1: Test method for readily combustible solids, 2015) under GLP compliancce.

The test item was formed into a powder train. It was ignited by a gas flame and the burning rate was determined.

In the preliminary test the test item could not be ignited. Based on the results of the preliminary test, no main test was performed.

The test item is considered as a not readily combustible solid of Division 4.1.

Description of key information

Flammability:

The determination of the flammability of the test item was conducted following internationally accepted recommendations (Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, sixth revised edition; Test N.1: Test method for readily combustible solids, 2015) under GLP compliance.

The test item was formed into a powder train. It was ignited by a gas flame and the burning rate was determined.

In the preliminary test the test item could not be ignited. Based on the results of the preliminary test, no main test was performed.

The test item is considered as a not readily combustible solid of Division 4.1.

Flammability, contact with water:

The study is scientifically not necessary, because the organic substance does not contain metals or metalloids. Also the test material does not contain structural components associated with flammability on contact with water mentioned in the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance, chapter R.7.1.10.3, page 123. Therefore, it can be concluded that the test material exhibit no risk for flammability on contact with water.

Flammability, pyrophoric solids:

The study is scientifically not necessary, because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and the test material does not contain structural components associated with pyrophoricity mentioned in the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance, chapter R.7.1.10.3, page 123. Therefore, it can be concluded that the test material exhibit no risk for pyrophoricity.

Additional information

The test item is considered as a not readily combustible solid of Division 4.1.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Following internationally recommendations and under GLP compliance, in a preliminary test the test item could not be ignited, hence the test item does not meet EU GHS classification and is considered as a not readily combustible solid of Division 4.1.

Based on the physical state and the structural elements the substance has not to be classified as flammable in contact with water, nor as pyrophoric solid.
