Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
- Principle of test: Although the principle is described in another publication of Apelblat, the shortened description og the present publication indicates that the principle is similar to the flask method.
- Parameters analysed / observed: The solubility of organic salts of magnesium were measured at different temperatures (283K to 333K).

Additional information

No guideline compliant study report is available for the Magnesium-L-hydrogenaspartate-2 -hydrate, however, in the study conducted bxy Apelblat (1993) the solubilities and its denpendence of temperature of different organic salts of magnesium was investigated. The substance magnesium DL-aspartatc tetrahydrate, , C8H20N2Mg x 4H2O > 98.0 mass per cent was used .

The compositions of solid phases in equilibrium with the saturated solutions were not determined, but in the studied temperature range, the solid hydrates remain each with the same number of water molecules. The solubility at 23.5°C corresponding to 296.60 K was 0.01375 mol/kg corresponding to 21.36 g/L.
