Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In the assessment of bismuth (3+) neodecanoate, read-across to the assessment entities bismuth cations and neodecanoate anions is applied since the ions of bismuth (3+) neodecanoate determine its fate and toxicity in the environment. The potential for acute toxicity of bismuth to fish is low based on a 96 h-LC50 of > 100 mg/L bismuth (WAF, 7 d equilibration) determined in a GLP-conform OECD 203 test with freshwater species Danio rerio. Based on a reliable OECD 203 equivalent study, the 96-h LL50 for O. mykiss is > 100 mg/L (measured) neodecanoic acid. In sum, bismuth (3+) neodecanoate has a low (if any) potential for acute toxicity to fish.
