Description of key information

The test substance diluted to 0.25% in ethanol and petrolatum showed low incidence of skin sensitisation in patients.

Patch -Test

In the patch test on humans the test substance in 0.25% in ethanol was applied to 1024 dermatitis patients and additional 1085 dermatitis patients were tested with the test substance in petrolatum at 0.25%.

Positive test reaction to 0.25 % active ingredient (a. i.) in ethanol was noted in 17 of 1024 (1.7 %) dermatitis patients. Four of 1085 (0.4 %) dermatitis patients reacted positively to 0.25 % a. i. in petrolatum. There was no simultaneous contact allergy to formaldehyde.
