Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Any other information on results incl. tables

In the screening test according to Grewer with the pure test substance an endothermal effect was observed in the temperature range 140 - 250°C, followed by an exothermal effect starting at 250°C. A multistage reaction was observed which led to a maximum product temperature of more than 500°C.

In the screening test with the kieselgur mixture (1:1) an endothermal effect was observed in the temperature range 140 - 210°C. At a temperature of 250 °C an exothermal effect started. Self-heating led to a temperature of approximately 450 °C

After the test the test item was partly discoloured green.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The test item has not to be classified as self-heating substance according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, Annex I, 2.11.4
