Results

The DSC diagrams show an endothermic peak with an onset temperature at about 96.4°C (369.6 K) (test 1) and 95.7°C (368.9 K) (test 2). The simultaneous TG shows a significant loss of weight.

Description of key information

Diethoxy(methyl)silane: 97.8 °C (measured)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
97.8 °C

Additional information

A measured boiling point value of 97.8°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the test substance according to EU Method A.2 (differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry). This is supported by a second measured boiling point value of 98.8 °C at 1013 hPa (photocell detection, capillary tube method), and a predicted value of 123 °C at 1013 hPa using an accepted calculation method (QSAR). The result is in principle supporting.
