Description of key information

Calculations of the logPow for aluminium tributanolate give values of 1.7 -2.6 . As the substance hydrolyses in water to form aluminium hydroxide and butanol, a meaningful experimental assessment of the logPow cannot be performed.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The logPow of butan-1-ol is 0.88.

It is expected based on the solubility of aluminium hydroxide, aluminiumhydroxyl oxide and aluminium oxide that bioavailability of these aluminium species will be low.
