Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative density
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
September 2009
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Well conducted study, under Internal Management System, according to OECD Guideline 109. Certificate of analysis included in the report.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.3 (Relative Density)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 109 (Density of Liquids and Solids)
Version / remarks:
section 9
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: DIN 51913Determination of density by gas pycnometer (volumetric) using Helium gas as the measuring gas – Solid materials, May 2001
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
Temperature 23°C instead of 20°C.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: ISO1183-3, Plastics. Methods for determining the density of non-cellular plastics – Part 3: Gas Pyknometer method, 1999
Principles of method if other than guideline:
In the procedure a measuring temperature of 20°C is prescribed. In reality the measurement
is carried out at 23°C. However, based on the known thermal expansion factor of similar
chemicals, it can be stated that this deviation in measuring temperature has no significant
impact on the resulting relative density.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
pycnometer method
Type:
relative density
Density:
1.04 g/cm³
Temp.:
23 °C
Remarks on result:
other: RSD 0.16 %
