Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The endpoint is waived: The substance decomposes before melting (SADT is 50 °C).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Substance decomposes before the melting point is reached. Self-Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT) of the substance is 50°C (reference SADT: CLP regulations 2.15.2.3 and UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, sub-sections 28.1, 28.2, 28.3 and Table 28.3.) See also ECHA guidance on the application of the CLP criteria, section 2.14.

See: 4.13 Flammability

The most reliable data is Akzo Nobel's DSC data noting 54 -54.5 oC melting point. Other literature reports the mp from 48 -58. Lower mps likely have lower purities.
