Description of key information

The boiling point of the pure substance was measured by dynamic method and found to be 67.7°C at 1013.3 hPa..

The boiling point of the aqueous solution was measured using an ebulliometer and found to be 80 .3°C +/- 0.2°C at 1026.32 hPa..

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
67.7 °C

Additional information

Different studys were conducted and a literature review was made. BASF study 189.0611.1 was conducted by dynamic method and found the boiling point of the pure substance to be 67.7 °C at 1013.3 hPa. This was supported by GESTIS - Substance database where the boiling point of the the pure substance is reported to be 68 °C and REAXYS where the boiling point of the pure substance is reported to be 65 °C ( Shirayev, Andrey; Iin, Paul Kong Thoo; Moiseev, Igor K. Synthesis, 1997) and 68 °C ( Khomutov,R.M. et al. Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of Chemical Science) at 1013.25 hPa. The value from BASF study 189.0611.1 was chosen as key value for the boiling point.

Also a GLP study with the solution was conducted in accordance with "Methods for the Determination of Physico-Chemical Properties", Directive 84/449/EEC,, Annex V Part A.2 using an ebulliometer.

ICI GLP study RD 10635C determined the boiling point of the aqueous solution to be 80 .3°C +/- 0.2°C at 1026.32 hPa.A BASF study (2000.355) reported the boiling point of the solution to be 73.95 °c at 1013.25 hPa.
