Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In an aqueous hydrolysis study it was found that cloquintocet acid had a half-life of >1 year indicating that hydrolysis will not represent a significant removal pathway for cloquintocet acid in the environment.

In a UV/VIS spectral adsorption test it was found that cloquintocet acid had a photolytic half-life of between 6 and 22 minutes indicating that cloquintocet acid will be quickly degraded by photolysis in the environment.

Two OECD 106 batch equilibrium studies are available to investigate the adsorption/desorption behaviour of cloquintocet acid. In the key study measured Koc values ranged from 872 to 6568 L/kg with a mean values of 2324 L/kg indicating that cloquintocet acid will be of low mobility in soil.

A ready biodegradability test conducted with the read-across substance, cloquintocet-mexyl, indicates that cloquintocet acid will not be readily biodegradable as only 38% mineralisation was observed after 29 days in the test.
