First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

- General information:

Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product. Symptoms of poisoning may even occur after several hours; therefore medical observation for at least 48 hours after the accident.

- After inhalation:

Supply fresh air. If required, provide artificial respiration. Keep patient warm. Consult doctor if symptoms persist. In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation. If breathing stops, provide artificial respiration.

- After skin contact:

Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Immediately rinse with water. Immediate medical treatment necessary. Failure to treat burns can prevent wounds from healing.

- After eye contact:

Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult a doctor. Remove contact lenses.

Protect unharmed eye.

- After swallowing:

Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting; call for medical help immediately.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed No further relevant information available.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Symptomatic treatment (decontamination, vital functions). In cases of irritation to the lungs, initial treatment with Dexamethason metered aerosol

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

- Suitable extinguishing agents:

CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.

Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.

- For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents:

For this substance / mixture no limitations of extinguishing agents are given.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Formation of toxic gases is possible during heating or in case of fire.

In case of fire, the following can be released:

Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide

Sulphur oxides (SOx)

Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Advice for firefighters

- Protective equipment:

Do not inhale explosion gases or combustion gases. Wear fully protective suit. Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.

Additional information

Dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire fighting water in accordance with official regulations.

Collect contaminated fire fighting water separately. It must not enter the sewage system.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away. Ensure adequate ventilation.  Use respiratory protective device against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol. Avoid contact with any product

Environmental precautions

Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water. Inform respective authorities in case of seepage into water course or sewage system. Do not allow to penetrate the ground/soil. In case of seepage into the ground inform responsible authorities.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust). Use neutralising agent. Send for recovery or disposal in suitable receptacles. Ensure adequate ventilation. •

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace. Prevent formation of aerosols. Wear suitable respiratory protective device when aerosols are formed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters

- Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace:

The product does not contain any relevant quantities of materials with critical values that have to be monitored at the workplace.

- Additional information: The lists valid during the making were used as basis.

Exposure controls

- Personal protective equipment:

- General protective and hygienic measures: Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed. Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin. Do not inhale gases / fumes / aerosols. Ensure that washing facilities are available at the work place. Provide eye bath. If larger quantities are handled provide emergency showers.

- Respiratory protection:

Not necessary if room is well-ventilated. In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device. Short term filter device.

-  Protection of hands:

Chemicals resistant gloves. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation. Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/ the preparation/ the chemical mixture. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation. Softening of the callus when wearing air-impermeable gloves is possible. Check protective gloves prior to each use for their proper condition.

- Material of gloves

The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

- Penetration time of glove material

The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

- Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles

- Body protection: Protective work clothing: Boots, Apron

Selection of protective clothing is subject to the specific kind of work and the corresponding risk potential.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No further relevant information available.

Chemical stability

Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: No decomposition if used according to specifications. To avoid thermal decomposition do not overheat.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: No dangerous reactions known.

Conditions to avoid: No further relevant information available.

Incompatible materials: oxidizing agents, strong bases

Hazardous decomposition products: If stored and handled properly: none known

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

- Recommendation : must not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system. Disposal must be made according to official regulations.

- Uncleaned packaging:

- Recommendation: Disposal must be made according to official regulations. Packagings that may not be cleansed are to be disposed of in the same manner as the product.

- Recommended cleansing agents: Water, if necessary together with cleansing agents.
