Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

4 -Dimethylaminopyridine was tested for dermal sensitisation in a Buehler closed patch sensitisation test, using a 50% aqueous concentration of the test substance which was determined to be non-irritating. Challenge with the test substance after three weeks of induction resulted in no erythema or edema in any of the treated animals. The substance is not considered to be a skin sensitiser.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
Not sensitising in a Buehler assay

Justification for selection of skin sensitisation endpoint:
guideline study under GLP

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance was tested in a dermal sensitisation assay, and found to be non-sensitising. The criteria for classification according to Regulation EC No. 1272/2008 are not met.
