Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance is with high probability not acutely harmful to aquatic invertebrates. No toxic effects occur within the range of solubility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A GLP guideline study according OECD 202 has been conducted using Daphnia magna (BASF SE 2015). Due to the low solubility a saturated solution has been conducted according OECD 23. As recommended in the guideline undissolved substance was removed prior to the start of exposure to avoid any physical injury to the test organisms by filtering the preparation through a membrane filter (pore width 0.2 µm)

However, concentration control analyses were not performed, because a reliable method for analyses in the required concentration range could not be developed. Nevertheless, all reasonable efforts were taken to produce a water accommodated fraction of the test substance in test media following the guidance in OECD 23. According to OECD 23, for tests with chemicals that cannot be quantified by analytical methods at the concentrations causing effects, the effect concentration can be expressed based on the nominal concentrations.

After 48 h of exposure no observable acute effect on Daphnia magna up to 100 mg/L in test media and under test conditions were observed. Therefore, the EC50 was determined to be > 100 mg/L (loading rate) and no toxic effects occurred within the range of solubility.
