Conclusions:
The surface tension of a test solution at 90% of the test substance saturation solubility in water and at 20ºC was 69.6mN/m. According to this, the test substance is considered not be surface active.
Executive summary:

The OCED harmonized ring method was used in a guideline study for the determination of the surface tension of the substance. The surface tension of a test solution at 90% of the test substance saturation solubility in water and at 20ºC was 69.6 mN/m. According to this, the test substance is considered not be surface active.

Additional information

The surface tension of a non-neutralized solution (90% saturation; pH not determined) of C10-DMA was tested according to the OECD harmonized ring method (OECD 115; EU method A.5): from a 1 g/L mixture with water the undissolved C10-DMA layer was removed and water added to obtain a 90% saturation level (actual concentration unknown) of the test substance saturation solubility in water. At 20 °C the surface tension was determined to 69.6 mN/m. According to this, the test substance is considered not be surface-active.
