Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Liquid: Sodium polysulfide solution is a liquid, therefore the study is technically not feasible.

Solid: Particle size distribution shows that the size of approx. 78 %  of test substance particles  is > 1 mm, the D10 is approx. 600µm and D50 and D90 are both above 1000 µm.

Additional information

Solid: The particle size distribution of the test substance disodium tetrasulfide was determined by sieving with analytical test sieves according to the test guidelineISO 2591-1. Basically, this analytical method involves stacking the sieves on top of one another in ascending degrees of coarseness, and then placing the test powder on the top sieve. The nest of sieves is subjected to a standardised period of agitation, and then the mass of material retained on each sieve is accurately determined. The test gives the mass percentage of powder in each sieve size range. The particle size distribution shows that the size of approx. 78 % of test substance particles is > 1 mm.
