Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Liquid: The kinematic viscosity of the test item sodium polysulfide solution was determined according to OECD guideline no. 114 [adopted on 12 May 1981] with the capillary viscosimeter method. The determination of the kinematic viscosity was carried out by the capillary method with a viscosimeter according to Ubbelohde. For a specific liquid volume of the test item the flow time is measured through a capillary under the influence of gravity. The measurement is carried out at a specific temperature. The results are given in mm²s-1. The method is applicable to liquids with a kinematic viscosity between approx. 0.5 and 105 mm²s-1.
