Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish

Diethylamine is with high probability acutely not harmful to fish (96 -h LC50 > 100 mg/L, NITE, 2000).

Long-term toxicity to fish

The intrinsic properties of the Substance indicate that significant and relevant long-term effects on fish will not occur (NOEC > 1 mg/L).

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Diethylamine is acutely harmful to aquatic invertebrates (48 -h EC50 = 58 mg/L, NITE, 2000).

Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

The chronic 21 -d EC10 based on reproduction for Daphnia magna was determined to be 4.07 mg/L (NITE, 2000).

Toxicity to aquatic algae

Diethylamine is acutely harmful to algae (72 -h ErC50 = 50.9 mg/L, 72 -h ErC10 = 34.3 mg/L, NITE, 2000).

Toxicity to microorganisms

The inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced in appropriate low concentrations (30 -min EC10 > 1000 mg/L, BASF AG 1990).
