Description of key information

The 2-methylcyclohexanone is readily biodegradable.

According to REGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006 ANNEX VIII the hydrolysis study does not need to be conducted if: the substance is readily biodegradable.

In accordance with Annexes VIII, the adsorption / desorption studies do not need to be conducted if the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly. And this is in agreement with the OECD test guideline 310 which found the subtance to be readily biodegradable. Furthermore, the low octanol-water partition coefficient of log Kow 1.54 would predict a low potential for adsorption to soil.

Additional information

Based on the OECD 310 guidline test the subtance is readily biodegradable.
