First-aid measures

General advice:

Immediate medical attention is required.

Inhalation:

Remove to fresh air. Call a doctor or poison control centre immediately. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.

Skin contact:

Wash off immediately with plenty of water. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Remove and isolate contaminated clothing and shoes. Seek immediate medical attention/advice.

Eye contact:

Keep eye wide open while rinsing. Immediate medical attention is required. Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Do not rub affected area.

Ingestion:

Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Immediate medical attention is required.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media

Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. Carbon dioxide (CO2).

Water spray or fog.

Unsuitable extinguishing media

Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water Do not allow run-off from fire-fighting to enter drains or water courses

Advice for firefighters

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit. Use personal protective equipment as required.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Personal precautions

Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.

For emergency responders

Use personal protection recommended in Section 8.

Environmental precautions

Do not allow into any sewer, on the ground or into any body of water. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Methods for containment:

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Methods for cleaning up:

Prevent product from entering drains. Dam up. Take up mechanically, placing in appropriate containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Advice on safe handling

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid generation of dust.

General Hygiene Considerations

Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Wear suitable gloves and eye/face protection. Take off all contaminated clothing and wash it before re-use. Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing is recommended.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Storage Conditions

Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Keep/store only in original container.

Incompatible materials

Incompatible with strong acids and bases. Incompatible with oxidising agents.
