First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air.  If respiratory symptoms develop, seek

medical attention.  If not breathing, give artificial

respiration.  If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.  Seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at

least 15 minutes, lifting upper and lower lids occasionally.

Seek immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water for at least 15

minutes, then rinse with water.  Seek medical attention if

irritation develops.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink water. Symptomatic treatment. Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water fog, Foam, Dry chemical powder.

Product arising from burning: The CO, CO2, NOx can be given off.

Protective equipment: Good firefighting practice dictates the use of self-

contained breathing apparatus and turnout gear.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to

the relevant national or international standards as

mentioned in section 2.3.10.

Absorb spillages of solutions with a suitable inert material

(eg   sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to

waste     containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum

machine.      Containers filled with waste material must be

labelled in   the same way as the original containers.

Clean the spillage area with water and detergent.

Dispose of waste material by incineration or landfill in

accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Use chemical safety goggle, gloves, helmet, boots, and

coveralls as necessary when using it, to prevent skin

contact. Personal equipment for protection is

recommended. Excess exposure to the product should be

avoided. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Discharge to the environment will be minimal. Recovery from

minor spillages or accidental discharge is not economically

or technically feasible, and such waste material will be

disposed of by incineration or landfill. In principle, it

may be possible to recover larger spillages of

uncontaminated material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise these

hazardous health properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with

inert material (eg sand or soil) may be disposed of by

landfill at an authorised tip in accordance with local

regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate or bury in a licensed facility. Do not discharge

into waterways or sewer systems without proper authority.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to

the sewage system or the aqueous environment. However,

adverse effects on sewage treatment systems would be

unlikely.
