Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Methyldiacetoxyisopropoxy silane and its main degradation products do not show potential for adsorption to sediment and soil

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex VIII, Column 2, 9.3.1, studies on adsorption/desorption do not have to be conducted if based on the physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption. The estimated log Pow values (2.63) of methyldiacetoxyisopropoxy silane (CAS No. 329039-38-5) and its main hydrolysis products: isopropanol, 0.05 (OECD SIDS, 1997); acetic acid, -0.71 (HSDB, 2011) and methyl silanetriol, 0.78 (Reimer, 2002) indicate that they will all show low adsorption potential to soil and sediment particles (< 3).
